he knew his time on earth with his family and loved ones was drawing to a close, Jack found the strength to compose his farewell message with eloquence and grace and hope for the future. I was shocked at the news of his death, but his letter moved me to tears. Politics aside, he was a man of integrity, courage and passion.
Farewell, sir. You left us too soon. I didn't support Jack Layton politically, but I respected and admired his dedication, passion and commitment to his ideals. He got me riled up and made me think - and I loved it! Canadians everywhere have lost a true patriot.
